Lake Powell!
Easily the funnest vacation of the summer.
Mike talked about going to Lake Powell for months before the glorious day actually arrived (we went wayy back in June. I am behind). He doesn't care for birthdays or other big celebrations, but vacations - hey - he can talk about those forever.
We went down with his side of the family and man we had a blast. I had never been before this trip and had heard too much a little bit about it before we went. The rumors are true! :) It is the most beautiful place in the West. The water is the perfect temperature and the rocks are monstrous and a beautiful shade of orange. It is so peaceful at night and you can see just about every star there is in the sky.
Staying on a house boat with 20+ people was definitely an adventure. We had all kinds of ages! We were on the water 95% of the time anyways so it wasn't too bad. We only were all on the boat when we were sleeping at night up on the deck under the stars - which was amazing! The stars are unreal there.

We had a few injuries - including my serious wake board wipe out in which I bruised my jaw line. Ya.....I face planted so hard that the board came up over the back of my head and whacked me in the jaw. Twas fun twas fun. We had 'the banana' which was way fun but definitely caused many an injury as everyone would fall off at the same time and kick someone in the face. Bloody noses and lips just mean we were having too much fun right?
A whole week full of delicious food, perfect skiing water, wake boarding, and sunbathing made for a great vacation! We can't wait to go back!
More pictures to come in Part 2!
