Amy's Baby Shower

My sister-in-law lives in Phoenix so it was so great getting to see her and chat with her when she came up to Utah! I don't have any nieces or nephews yet so we are anxiously awaiting for baby Parker to get here. We can't wait to spoil him :)

We played the mandatory poopy-diaper-that-is-really-chocolate game which was....fun :) If you don't know what it is, it's where a bunch of different chocolate candy bars are melted and put into a diaper to make it look like poop. Then you pass them around and have to guess what candy bar it is. But here is the problem - i have the most sensitive gag reflex in the entire world. I legitimately gag at everything - Mike makes fun of me because I even gag when I am brushing my teeth. So I am trying to play this game in front of a bunch of people I don't know trying not to have a serious gag reaction. Haha let me just say it was interesting. The one picture of me smelling the diaper I was actually holding my breath so I wouldn't gag. Hahaha I am the worst.

Other than that, the baby shower was great ;) Amy is such a sweetheart and I am excited for Parker to join their family! They will be the best parents.
See you in January Parker!

Halloween 2013

Since Halloween was awkwardly on a Thursday this year, we celebrated on the Saturday before.  We actually weren't planning on dressing up or doing anything special, but we were invited to a little shindig with our friends and so we just had to find something to wear! Mike had actually been in New York the week before for a med school interview and when he came home he brought me an I Love New York shirt and boom - the idea was born.

The Statue of Liberty (aka Lady Liberty ;) ) and a NYC tourist.

Naturally, Mike was chosen to be the statue. I found the sheet he wore at Savers for like a dollar, painted his face green, and Mike made his hat out of cardboard. I was legitimately impressed with his hat - it looked way awesome. He wasn't too impressed with the green face paint and I only was allotted a couple of minutes to put it on before he escaped.
For my costume, I wore my NYC tee, my camera around my neck, had a (fabulous) floppy leopard hat,  a fanny pack, and had gross long white tube socks on. We looked pretty good together!

The party was really fun - the other couples costumes were awesome too. We had a Mickey and Minnie Mouse, robbers, Miss Frizzle and a cop, and then Jeff & Claire who didn't dress up ;) Good food and games made for a fun night!

On actual Halloween, Mike had an intramural football game so we went to that instead of halloween-y things. Though, we did have one trick or treater who was seriously adorable! They knocked at the door and he just stood there. Haha he was young and I don't think he knew what to say. His Spider-Man costume was sooo cute! My family made fun of the picture I sent them because it looks like we just threw the candy on the ground and made him pick it up. Haha but that is not the case! He just dropped it. So don't judge us :)

I am so excited for next Halloween as we will be off to med school and hopefully will have more trick or treaters to pass out candy to. Supposedly EVMS puts on a whole halloween party so I am looking forward to that.

Now we can decorate for Christmas right?! ;)

Now for the iPhone pics
